Applicants may join OIDA at any time during the year. Memberships are annual beginning on the first of the month following receipt of application and initial payment and continue for one calendar year thereafter. OIDA membership is open to for-profit, not-for-profit, and university/academic institutions.
Associate Member
Associate members participate in OIDA activities and receive all the regularly distributed publications of the Association but are not represented on the governing bodies. The dues level is determined by the organization's total annual revenue and the revenue from its optoelectronics effort. Membership classifications are from A-1 through A-7.
Affiliate Member
Affiliate membership status supports university-industry interaction, governmental agency membership, and not-for-profit or industry coalition organization membership. Individual academic institutions or organizations interested in gaining exposure to the optoelectronics industry can participate in OIDA activities.

Membership Classification Associate 1 ≥ $1B $16,500 Add $16,000 Associate 2 $100M - $1B $11,000 Associate 3 $10M - $100M $6,500 Add $12,000 Associate 4 $1M - $10M $3,500 Associate 5 < $1M $1,500 University and Not-for-Profit Affiliates $3,500 * Subject to approval by the OIDA Advisory Board and Council . Annual dues are set by the Board of Directors and may change from time to time. Payment may be made by credit card, by check payable to the Optical Society of America, or by wire transfer. Voting members are represented on the Board of Directors and the Steering Committee, where they have an opportunity to discuss the status and pressing needs of the industry. They also participate in the selection, direction, and execution of all association activities. Voting memberships are available to any person or entity interested in the design, development, application, or pormotion of optoelectronics products. Voting members must maintain an optoelectronics-related manufacturing or R&D facility. Voting members must be approved by the existing Board.
